This adorable matching pourer set arrived at her new home yesterday and one of these brown/white mugs snuck right along with☕️ Thank you to my kind friend for giving these cuties a good home! 🤎

Note: With the Summer Market a few months out (pottery is a long process) and a few custom orders I’m working on, I may not be posting a shop update/drop - I will however post bits here and there for sale but am hoping to get a decent inventory for the market 🫶🏻

Glazes always amaze me 👀

The first picture is the first firing of a red clay that didn’t heat quite enough and got sharp blisters. I decided to throw it in for a refire, without adding any glaze to hopefully keep that pretty blue effect. When I opened the kiln this morning I discovered this mug fired a creamy brown with blue, dark brown and mottled runs. She’s like a whole new mug 🤩

Every now and then, I end up cutting a mug in half ✂️

It’s nice to check consistency and thickness in my throwing - to see where i need to pay more attention to while throwing… and its oddly satisfying. In this case, the bottom of the mug stuck to my bat and broke before the trimming stage - onto the next 👏🏻

A speckled olive family has arrived 🫒 I’ve been a little quiet glazing a few kiln loads over here BUT am thrilled with how these bubble mugs and matching pourers have come out - they look better than expected! I even managed to test out this olive color on my red clay - stay tuned to see how that turned out 👀 #ceramics #handmade #clayart #pottery

Tomorrow I run the first round of firing on my recent bunch for the Summer Market coming up. So naturally I’m spending today combing over all of them for cracks - that will ultimately ruin the piece after the second round of firing. Unfortunately this cute bubble mug cracked along the handle seam 😢 So here she goes into the reclaim bucket and to be turned into another pretty piece soon 👋🏻 #ceramics #handmade #clayart #pottery

The coolest part (to me) about pottery? RECLAIM. Maybe you’re not in love with something you make, maybe it gets cracked or broken? As long as you haven’t bisque fired your piece you can throw that sucker right in a bucket with water and turn it into what you see here, a stinky mushy mess. Once it’s all mixed up and smooth, you lay it out on some plaster boards to dry and after a few days you can start wedging it back into workable usable clay. How neat is that?! #ceramics #handmade #clayart #pottery

I’ve been a tad quite on here, but for good reason… I’ll be at a Summer Market in July ☀️ Signing up for a 3 day Summer Market means getting inventory started NOW. You never know what could crack, explode or simply come out of the kiln wrong, so here we are four months before the market cramming in as much pottery as possible 💪🏻 #ceramics #handmade #clayart #pottery

Don’t you just love a little matching set? 😍 I’ve been teetering the idea of a mug/pourer set and oh boy, they’re perfect! Shots run perfectly in and the pour is smooth. Hoping to have a few available soon 👀 #handmade #clayart #pottery

Can you spot something new? 👀 While I’ve been working on a custom plate set I’ve been slowly integrating a new stamp! One that won’t cause cracking or warpage in the drying process and one simple enough I can grow with 🫶🏻 At the moment mugs and smaller items are a toss up on what stamp they have (depends on the timeline I’ve made them) but slowly getting to just this stamp for future use 👏🏻 #handmade #clayart #pottery

They can’t all be winners 🤷🏻‍♀️ In this case, the backside of the plate got uncovered in the drying process causing uneven drying and a large crack through the base. Into the reclaim bin she goes 🗑️ #handmade #clayart #pottery
