So the job for today taking down a large Hackberry and large old ash tree that's been dead for a few years. I just had to get them down on the ground away from the bins to the left. And cut up the big stuff. The two older guys here in the pic are older than most guys doing this kind of stuff. Today was one of their birthdays he turned 75. They both out worked many a third of there age. And had this picked up in no time and were waiting on me at another project a mile over.
They don't make men like that anymore.

Thought I should post some pics before I delete them the helicopters 🚁 were pretty cool ive seen alot of them this year at different job sites and even some near my house. Hopefully they stay out of my airspace lol.

Still getting use to the new rig but got it out to take down another large dead ash tree brush was about 4 times faster than the last tree hopefully the trend will continue. Game changer. Ackley Iowa and surrounding area.

HELP WANTED, we are hiring at Affordable Tree Service Ackley, Ia. We remove trees on the daily along with trimming work and stump grinding. The ideal candidates would be willing to learn pretty much the whole process starting with the ground work feeding the chipper raking and cleanup. Running skid steer. And work your way up to operating cranes along with one of the few grapple saw trucks in Iowa.
We work outside so work is dependent on weather conditions.
Pay for experience and willingness to work. Message us for an application.
Must be drug free and have a valid license.

So this is the newest member of the fleet
It is a grapple saw truck. Who does decals around the Ackley area within an hour or so ? Always budget minded. Thanks ahead of time!
This is a big step up for us.

Well I've ran into alot of stuff but this would be a first.

A very old shot gun found inside a tree by a man who milled it on Cape York. Thought to have been once left in the fork and the tree has grown around it...

Four legged tree in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
One hundred years ago (1915), John Henning planted 4 linden tree saplings—2 on either side of the walk—leading up to his front door. Mr. Henning, a farmer who had immigrated from Germany as a young man, had moved into town when he retired. With lots of expereince grafting apple trees, he aimed to imitate the archways of lindens he recalled from Berlin. First, the two on the same side of the walk were lashed together and grafted. Then when each pair was tall enough to arch over the walk, he grafted the pairs. Over time, a towering trunk grew from the original four.

The four-legged tree of Cedar Falls has weathered two major setbacks in its long life. Not too many years after Mr. Henning started his project, the front right tree died and a replacement was grafted in. Thus the lesser girth of that trunk.
