Are smiles work beautifully when they're not reversed in the true mirror, and almost always fade within seconds when looking in the reverse mirror. This is because what makes a smile genuine and warm is what your communicating with the smile, which is up in the eyes.
As soon as you meet your eyes in a reverse mirror, the message of why you're smiling doesn't match what's inside of you, which makes you just shift pretty rapidly to just staring. Almost no one can keep a smile, a real smile, for more than a few seconds before it feels fake and stops in reverse.
However when not reversed, as in a true mirror, smiles actually grow and fully express what's inside for why one is smiling. It's a great example of what is possible within the true mirror: To be able to see yourself as the expressive and vibrant human being that you actually are, and to realize that what you've seen in reverse is really not a good reflection...it's missing a lot of who you are.
it's no wonder that we get critical on ourselves, because we're not seeing that vibrancy that is our most beautiful and meaningful element of how we actually look. When you can see all of you within a true mirror, is actually a lot to like and love, easily, and without this disruptive filter between you and yourself.

It can take some time to see it, especially if you have a bright and vibrant face like Neetu does! But you can see the light fade from her eyes in reverse within seconds, versus rarely leaving her eyes when she sees them in her true reflection.
To me, that light represents so much of who we are, what we're thinking about, the degree to which we're thinking about it, or our feelings, our personality, our presence and being present. So much gets conveyed by that light, coupled with our full facial expressions. And we read it really accurately and easily in each other, but we really can't in reverse.
Our sense of self really is not in alignment with who we actually are and how the world actually sees us. It's like having a faulty interface for ourselves, and fixing it is like tuning a radio station to the right frequency, instead of being slightly off with a lot of static. We have beautiful music inside, it's nice to be able to see and hear it as it really is!

Sometimes the effects of the true mirror is not so obvious or perceived with much significance. It's very dependent on the person, how much they express with active expressions in general, and how much they have been introspective with themselves in the mirror. To me it's still clear there is a difference, but whether It matters or not to him is the question. It's all new information, that can be used to get one into sync , inner and outer self and world

You can read your eyes properly...we do that all the time with each other, now you can with yourself.

Our faces are an exquisite communication tool, and yet simply don't work properly in reverse. All of our expressions get altered by being reversed, and unfortunately the ones with a lot of light and life in them really just don't look right, so we tend to stop doing them. We read ourselves, and interpret our thoughts and feelings, and respond to them in ways that are just altered from what's real, and what others see and respond to. It's just a very unnatural state of affairs, and which makes us all have an unnatural, and often unhealthy relationship to ourselves. It's just the mirror starting it, and reinforcing it every time you make eye contact... I tie to avoid doing that in reverse, and when I really want to see myself, I can look into a true mirror and see the real version of me. It can be very healthy and helpful, as well as sometimes challenging, but generally productive to interact with myself this way.

We just never get to see the way we are being, the way our expressions are expressing what's in our minds, how we're feeling, how we come across. The biggest issue is that our bright expressions just fade and go away in mirrors, and so if you have them (which we all do), you've never been able to see them nor the true feelings and emotions that are behind those bright expressions. It's no wonder that we are often so self-critical, because we never see these beautiful offsetting features that make us unique, present, and fully human...seen easily by those who love us and care about us And with which you interact in real time with the world all day long.
The point of the True Mirror is to not only become aware of this special being that we are, but to get into sync with our inner and outer selves. So that when we are moving through our lives, with all the ins and outs, ups and downs, challenges and successes, we have a great idea as to what this truly looks like and feels like. With authenticity in your own face a major paradigm shift in your experience.
In mirrors, much gets lost, and we make do with what's there. But by definition, it's out of sync and somewhat inauthentic. For our whole lives, it's been there: ubiquitous, unchallenged, unconscious and solitary. We are the only ones who know ourselves this way. What that has done to us is an untold story, but every human being has their version of it. Go figure what the impact is...
So Happy Looking to you the next time you see one...this is why we do this, this is what it's for, and this is why it's worth crossing the uncanny valley to become familiar with the real you. ❤️❤️❤️

In this video, It was more obvious in person, where the amount of activity in Melissa's eyes was so much more than in reverse. This is what carries expressions beyond what they look like, but what they actually mean. It conveys who we are behind the expressions, what we are thinking and feeling, how we come across, how others see us.
In the reverse mirror, we're used to what we're seeing, we're comfortable with it, but when you actually compare the activity in our faces, the reverse mirror becomes so flat and our communication gets so short. Again we're used to it, but we're missing a lot of what's really going on within us, and instead are seeing and believing in a much lesser version of ourselves...
It's no wonder that we tend to just see flaws in our appearance as opposed to beauty in our being!

Beautiful story about uncovering one's deep self in practice with others, and then seeing it within the True Mirror, and loving it, loving oneself as one really is.
Black Burner Project built a barbershop in deep playa this year at Burning Man as a meeting place for the community. Included was a True Mirror, which was part of the intense self activation to really uncover oneself as the beautiful person one is, beneath all the walls we put up. for this person, they really got to see and love themselves beyond the walls, as so many of those around them loves them!
