Our Story

Southern Merle Woodworks is a small husband and wife team that took a leap of faith and started a company building furniture and home decor. We have two booths at The Woodstock Market in Acworth, GA and an online store at www.southernmerle.com. Matt has an unreal talent with woodworking and has been bringing amazing furniture to many homes in the north Georgia area, including outfitting several cabins in the mountains. Stefanie began making fun crafts to fill their showrooms at the Market as a part-time hobby. After a few months in the Market, a coffee and wine sign that Stefanie and Matt made went viral on the internet. They have had such a huge response to their signs that the company expanded to not just building furniture full time, but signs as well.

Southern Merle Woodworks also teamed up with Wild About Decor and began doing home make-overs. Now, shiplap walls are a huge hit for the company, as everyone loves shiplap, right? They also specialize in fireplace mantles, corbels and custom shelves.

Working together as a team has been an amazing experience as Matt and Stefanie compliment each other well! They love being able to work side by side, along with their two daughters, to be able to bring a piece of southern charm in to everyone’s lives!
