Choosing the gutter system for your home requires making one key decision โ seams or no seams. Seamed gutters, also called sectional gutters, are the traditional type of gutter. They are sold and installed by joining small sections of gutters and fastening them at their seams. Seamless gutters, on the other hand, are continuous gutters that wrap around the roof. Many property owners prefer seamless gutters because they are customized by an experienced roofing company to fit each roof and are easier to maintain. If youโre planning to install seamless gutters, here are three key benefits to look forward to:
.
1. Little Maintenance is Needed
Unlike seamed gutters, seamless gutters have fewer joints. It means that the seamless gutters donโt collect as much debris and organic litter as gutters divided in sections do. They also leave a minimal chance for bugs and other pests to infiltrate the roofing system. This leads to less time spent cleaning and maintaining the gutters.
2. Custom-Made to Fit Each Home
Seamless gutters are made through a specialized gutter machine that is brought to the property by the gutter contractor. This is an attempt to custom-fit the gutters according to the exact dimensions of your roof, making them unique to each property. A perfectly fit gutter system offers better performance as they reduce the risk of a leaking roof.
3. Less Likely to Experience Clogs
The seams found on sectional gutters leave small openings for twigs, bark, leaves, and other organic material from overhanging trees to seep into the gutter system. These lead to buildup and clogs that can force the gutters to expand and eventually break down. If you install seamless gutters, you wonโt have to worry about overflowing or collapsing gutters, saving you on repair costs.
Take a minute or two to see if your windows show any of these warning signs.
1. You can feel a draft.
This is one of the most obvious indicators that you need a new window. The corners of windows, when deteriorated, can let air in. While, moisture can cause wood windows to warp.
2. You have a high energy bill.
Donโt remember your bills being so high? Energy-efficient windows can help reduce the cost of your energy bill. It is more cost-effective to completely replace your old windows than to repair them.
3. Your windows are hard to open or shut.
If you have this problem, you should consider replacing your windows. This means the window has lost its structural balance. Single and double hung have this issue a lot. A hard to move window can be dangerous too.
4. Moisture is inside your window.
Fog or condensation inside your window is a sign that it is no longer insulated. If you see some white residue between the glass, then your window seal has failed. A window that isnโt insulated can take a toll on your energy bill, so try to replace it as soon as you can.
5. The sun has discolored your furniture.
The sun that comes in from your windows doesnโt have to damage your furniture. Your old window could be letting in harmful UV rays. There are UV-resistant windows that can protect your furnitureโs value and color.
6. You have pests.
Spiders, bees, ants, etc., will come in through any small opening. A little hole near a window is a perfect entry point for pests. Covering these areas is only a temporary fix. A new window will keep pests out.
7. Your house is noisy.
Does it seem like you can hear every little noise outside? Do you windows make noise? If you are experiencing any sound problems at all, replace your current windows.

Here are some things to keep in mind when choosing vinyl siding colors:
CONSIDER YOUR HOUSE STYLE
Before you choose your siding color, consider what style house you have. Sometimes certain home styles look better in certain colors. For example, craftsman homes look great in earthy colors like olive, dark red, or brown. Tuscan and Mediterranean homes look great in warmer vinyl siding colors like burnt orange, maple, or terra cotta. And Victorian and French homes can be fitted with virtually any color. This means you can go bold with blues, greens, reds, or another favorite color.
DETERMINE WHERE YOUR SIDING WILL BE
Take a look at your home and determine where the siding is. Is it around the entire home? Does your siding only cover the sides? Is it just on the second floor? When you take location into consideration, it can help you determine the right vinyl siding colors. For example, if your vinyl siding is more of an accent, choose a color that complements the stonework, cedar shakes, or other siding material on your home. If vinyl siding covers the entire home, choose a color that gives it character.
USE LIGHT AND DARK COLORS ACCORDINGLY
On average, large homes tend to look better in light vinyl siding colors while small homes tend to look better in dark vinyl siding colors. If a large home is a dark color, it could appear ominous, and if a small home is a light color, it could get lost in the landscape. In addition, light colors can be used to understate features while dark colors can be used to emphasize them, so choose accordingly to achieve the look you want.
DONโT FORGET ABOUT YOUR ROOF
The color of your home can help give it personality. But one thing you shouldnโt forget about is your roof color. If youโre replacing your vinyl siding but not your roof, youโll need to choose a vinyl siding color that complements your roof color. If youโre building your home new or youโre replacing both your siding and your roof, make sure you consider how
Insulation can provide more benefits than simply keeping things warm.
How It Works
Scientifically speaking, heat gravitates toward the cold. Think of insulation as a thermal barrier that helps slow down the transfer of heat. Running your air conditioner in the summer is significantly more effective if you have insulation to keep the hot air from coming inside. Insulation is helpful for both the summer and winter months, making it an even more justifiable investment for your home.
Why Insulate the Attic?
It may seem counter-intuitive to insulate the attic, but itโs actually the most important place to insulate if your home doesnโt have enough. On any given hot summer afternoon, the average attic has a temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Because the attic gets so hot, keeping it insulated helps ensure that the heat doesnโt enter the attic and pass through the ceiling of your home, ultimately resulting in a raised household temperature. In response, your AC unit has to work twice as hard to produce the same results. A simple layer of attic insulation can save you a significant amount of money on your monthly energy bills. In fact, adding insulation to your home usually pays itself back through energy savings in less than a year.
Other Types of Insulation, Too
Beyond solely insulating your attic, you can take the same measures in other areas of your home. You can also insulate your homeโs ductwork, walls, floors, crawl space, ceiling and roofโผ๏ธ
No roof shingles are invincible, although some types appear to be close. Take a look at your roof every now and then and see if everything looks normal. Notice any problems with the flashing, shingles, or gutter system, and talk to a roof repair specialist to see what you can do about them. The roof that covers your house will spend the entirety of its working life outdoors, which means itโll be vulnerable to elements like rain and snow, as well as pests and the nests they create. Regular maintenance is key if you want your roof to last for as long as possible. Hereโs what you should know about some common causes of roof damage.
Weather
Your roof takes on the elements so that you donโt have to, so itโs only fair that you return the favor by repairing it when itโs been damaged. Water, snow, hail, and sleet will all take a toll on your roof. Those who live in climates where hurricanes are prevalent will have to pay even closer attention to their roofing systems, as wind can be a real threat as well. Severe weather can rip up your roof shingles and potentially even tear your whole roof off of the top of the house.
Pests
Critters like rats and mice can squeeze through holes and crevices the size of a dime, and ants and termites can go virtually wherever they want to. When it comes to roof damage, the pests you should be concerned about are birds, squirrels, and rats. These animals will have no trouble making their way up your siding or through your gutters, and they may ultimately decide to nest on your roof. This gives them an outpost, so they can take their time in burrowing through your roofing shingles and into your home.
Neglect
Even the strongest roofs need to be maintained. If you donโt maintain your roof, then each element will be more vulnerable to the constant wear and tear that itโs exposed to. Check your roof out whenever you can, and or contact us at @myproroofing for an inspection at ๐ฒ 1-770-999-9875
