I love vintage holiday decorations, for all the holidays. They are kinda cute and kinda creepy and so weirdly charming.

This vintage inspired pumpkin was so much fun to paint! The original is a 16x20 on canvas, but I’m thinking about having prints made. Let me know if you’re interested in a print.

We went to Maine on our honeymoon and I found this little wooden 18” square table at a flea market. The vendor didn’t want to sell it to me. It had just come off a lobster boat and it was still water logged. I paid $5 for it, brought it home and left it outside in the sun for a week. Then I used it as my coffee table for the next dozen years. Over time, it was painted and repainted, and it lost two corners to my puppy cutting her teeth. Some days, I wish I still had that little table. We remember with fondness as our “lobster table”.

I once scraped about 17 layers and 120 years of wallpaper off not only the walls, but also the ceiling of our livingroom. That is the only reason why I will not use wallpaper in my home. Although it’s been years, the faded prints of generations of enthusiastic decorators is wallpapered on my psyche.

So, instead, I painted the spirit of the wallpaper in this piece and it was a pleasure to create. It will be available as part of my Florida Oranges collection, in an Instagram Live Sale on Friday, May 24th at 7pm EST.
