Most fruits are available in early-, mid- and late-season varieties. Choose your varieties carefully to stagger your harvests so there is not too much to deal with all at once. Plants, screens and lattices or trellises are all good options for enhancing privacy.

Finish pruning evergreen shrubs, like juniper and yews, early this month before new growth begins. Thinner branches may be cut with a sharp pair of bypass pruners. Larger caliper branches will require loppers. Very large caliper branches will require a pruning saw. When pruning an evergreen hedge, hedge shears or an electric trimmer will do the trick.

Folks these are just a few examples of the AI generated plants showing up all over the internet lately. These plants DO NOT EXIST. Many unscrupulous sellers on the internet are selling "seeds" for these plants, and others like them. Don't get scammed. Any legitimate plant seller will provide the botanical name with Genus, Species, and Cultivar for the plant they are trying to sell. If you can't find information on that plant from a website ending in .edu, .gov, or .org, then the plant does not exist. If you are unsure we are glad to help, and we have THOUSANDS of beautiful plants to chose from that do exist!😁

The Crape Myrtles are still asleep!...Now is the time of year where we start getting calls from people who are concerned that "their Crape Myrtle is dead".....Crape Myrtles are one of the LAST plants to leaf out in spring. Crapes sometimes don't begin to break bud until mid-May in some locations. The tips of a Crape Myrtle die back each year, so the plant seems "crispy and crunchy". Give them some time, they will leaf out when it warms up. Don't cut back the tips until after the new growth comes in, so you can see exactly where to clean it up. A "thumb scratch" on the main leader should show some green. Don't give up on them yet, they will emerge in a few weeks!
